My name is Ruben. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a natural attraction and passion for the subjects of health and nutrition. However, it wasn’t until 2005, when I began researching how to cure my chronic adult acne, that I became deeply immersed in the study and application of all aspects of these fields.
My skin had become a source of anxiety and depression, so I desperately started reading every book I could get my hands on, listening to non-stop interviews and lectures from experts, seeking out every teacher and guru I could find, and attending any health related event I could—all in an attempt to understand what was wrong with me.
I learned about countless dietary philosophies and principles and experimented with many of them. My research eventually led me to discover that my skin was only the tip of the iceberg. I implemented certain diet and lifestyle changes to correct the underlying imbalances that were negatively affecting my skin. To my amazement, not only did my acne clear up entirely, but my overall health and vitality radically improved as well! Since then, I’ve been excited to share with others the concept that what we eat profoundly affects our health and well-being, along with virtually every other aspect of our lives.
Although I’ve achieved many personal health goals since then, along the way I’ve messed up a lot. I started off my journey with hardcore food addictions and emotional hang-ups. I’ve made tons of mistakes and fallen flat on my face many times. Fortunately, I failed my way to success. And because of this, I know what works and what doesn’t. There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all diet or lifestyle plan; that’s just not how it works. We’re all different and require individualized approaches.
Through my continued studies and observations, I realized that in the history of human evolution, we’ve never struggled so much with diet or been so concerned or obsessed about our health as we are today. When I discovered the reasons for this, I was shocked and decided to make it my mission to help others who genuinely want to improve their diets, obtain their ideal weight, have more energy, or make any kind of healthy change…but just don’t know where or how to begin.
I am truly grateful for the level of health I’ve been able to achieve but the road hasn’t always been exactly smooth. The purpose of this website is to give you practical tools and ideas to help you make your journey to health easier than mine was. My goal is to empower you and help you to realize that you are in control of your health. Not your friends, not your family, not your environment, not your doctor. You. So I’d like to make a toast.
